A total of 16 goals have been made in three different games.
- Toronto vs. NYCFC 4-0
- Sporting Kansas City vs. Montreal Impact 7-1
- LAFC vs. San Jose Earthquakes 5-0
Now, we already know how I felt about the NYCFC game and I won’t go too much into the other games besides the score.
To see so many goals scored in three games, and such difference between scores, is madness.
For the winning teams, it’s motivating to be able to dominate another team the way they did.
For the losing teams, it’s just a slap in the face. All three teams have had a rough start to the regular season. Especially for the two, NYCFC and San Jose who both have new head coaches.
For San Jose, they had high hopes for their new head coach, Matías Almeyda. Almeyda came to San Jose from Club Deportivo Guadalajara, more commonly known as Chivas.
Chivas had gone 11 years without a league championship until Almeyda showed up. In total, Almeyda was able to give Chivas five championships, including CONCACAF Champions League 2018 against Toronto FC.
So, San Jose fans were hopeful in thinking that Almeyda would lead their team to greatness. But, for now, it’s not looking too great for them.
Even though it’s still early in the season, will Almeyda be able to turn this team around? We’ll see as the season goes on.
